Take a Great Northern train one stop from Highbury & Islington to Essex Road station, about two minutes’ walk from the clinic at 222 Essex Road, N1 3AP. On foot it is about 15 minutes via Canonbury Road. The 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 buses stop on Essex Road close to the door. Many patients cycle: by bike or e-bike (Lime or Forest) it is about 5 minutes from Highbury & Islington station or Highbury Fields.
At Dental & Wellness London a dental examination is £65 (30 minutes, including a full risk assessment), hygiene is £85, and a children’s examination is £45. The Invisalign consultation is free, and a skin consultation is £65, redeemable against treatment. Treatment is quoted in writing before it begins.
There is no national rule that stops you being seen after two years away. NHS practices do not keep permanent registers, so they may treat a returning patient as new. We are a private practice: however long it has been, you book a 30-minute examination (£65) and we start from where things are today.
Yes. A children’s examination is £45, and under-5s are seen free alongside a parent’s own examination. Appointments are calm and unhurried. Teenagers can be assessed for Invisalign, which Dr Patel plans himself as a Diamond II provider.
We are not on the High Street. Dental & Wellness London is at 222 Essex Road, Islington, and the 73 and 476 buses run direct from Stoke Newington to near our door. Many N16 patients find the short ride worth it for private, family and cosmetic dentistry in one place.
Yes. We welcome new patients from Stoke Newington N16 for dental, skin and wellness care. You do not need a referral, and you can book a one-off examination without leaving your current dentist.
About 15 to 20 minutes on the 73 or 476, which run from Stoke Newington through Newington Green and down Essex Road. We are at 222 Essex Road, N1 3AP, two minutes from Essex Road station. Many patients cycle: by bike or e-bike (Lime or Forest) it is about 15 minutes from Church Street, via Newington Green.
That's an entirely reasonable starting position, and we'd never push it on you. Many of our patients only ever see the dentists. Ayurveda is offered as an option for cases where it might genuinely help — typically chronic patterns that haven't responded to standard pathways. Reena's clinical biomedical training means she's the first to refer to conventional medicine when that's what's needed.
Most wellness clinics in London centre on a single practitioner or one discipline (yoga, acupuncture, nutrition). We're a registered medical and dental practice with credentialed practitioners across multiple disciplines, working together. Our dentists are GDC registered. Our nutritional therapist is mGNC and mANP. The integration is structural — not aesthetic.
Yes. Each practitioner sees patients independently for their own discipline. You can see Dr Reena for Ayurvedic medicine, Nicoletta for nutritional therapy, or Laura-Maria for body psychodynamic coaching without ever seeing a dentist. The integration is offered when clinically relevant — it's not a requirement.
It depends. Body psychodynamic coaching, life coaching and Ayurvedic medicine are typically not covered by health insurance. Some private health insurance plans cover nutritional therapy or MBCT for specific clinical indications — we'll provide claim documentation. Workplace wellness benefit schemes increasingly cover several of these disciplines. Reception will help check what your specific cover includes.
No. Most disciplines start with a single consultation, after which you decide whether to continue. Some interventions (MBCT, naturopathic protocols) are inherently programme-based — but you only commit after the initial conversation tells you whether it's a fit. We don't sell packages upfront.
Both, depending on the discipline. Body psychodynamic coaching draws from the somatic psychotherapy tradition — well-established within psychotherapy and increasingly evidence-supported. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy has strong RCT evidence. Nutritional therapy varies by intervention — some highly evidence-based, others where evidence is still emerging. Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old traditional system with growing biomedical research support. We're transparent about what's strongly evidenced and what's traditional knowledge with evidence emerging — you'll never be misled.
Call reception on 020 8127 4567 or use the booking form on our contact page. The first consultation is a free 20-minute discovery call. We typically have appointments available within 7–14 days; emergency dental care is same-day during opening hours.
Our verified Google reviews are at g.co/kgs/dentalwellnesslondon — currently 4.7★ from more than 300 patients. We don't curate or filter; what you see is what's been left. Reviews repeatedly mention long appointments, the same dentist every visit, and no upselling — those are the patterns we work hard to maintain.
Yes — children are welcome. Children's examinations are £45, and under-5s are free when seen alongside a parent's own examination. We're particularly experienced with anxious children, growing-jaw orthodontic cases (Invisalign Teen and First) and habit-related issues like bruxism in teenagers.
We ask for at least two working days' notice. Cancellations or missed appointments with less notice than that carry a £65 fee. We hold this line because a late cancellation leaves the slot empty for someone else — please call or message reception as early as you can, and we will usually be able to offer the time to another patient.
We accept most UK dental insurance for general treatment — Bupa, Denplan, Simplyhealth, AXA. Most plans cover routine examination and hygiene fully or partially. Cosmetic treatment (veneers, whitening, Invisalign) is typically not covered by health insurance. We can complete your insurance claim form at the appointment.
Dental & Wellness London is at 222 Essex Road, Islington, London N1 3AP, two minutes' walk from Essex Road station (Great Northern line). Highbury & Islington is about 15 minutes on foot and Angel about 15 to 20 minutes. Buses 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 stop on Essex Road, and pay-and-display parking is available along Essex Road.
Four things. First, long appointments, with no five-minute upsells. Second, technical depth: Dr Vishal Patel holds an MSc in Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry from Manchester, and implants are placed by Dr Rishil Patel, an implant dentist with an MClinDent in Implantology. Third, the whole-health angle: an Ayurvedic practitioner (Dr Reena Sohal), a nutritional therapist (Nicoletta Peloni) and a somatic coach (Laura-Maria Schober) under one roof. Fourth, honest case selection: we recommend the conservative option, decline cases where appropriate, and refer out when that is what is needed.
Yes. We deliberately keep the same dentist with you for the duration of treatment. Reviews repeatedly mention this — patients value continuity over speed. The only exception is if a clinical handover is genuinely needed (e.g. surgical work referred to our implant dentist, or whole-health work referred to Dr Reena Sohal).
Yes. We offer 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status. Your treatment plan and fee are confirmed in writing before you decide.
A free 20-minute discovery call comes first — we talk through what you're considering and answer questions before recommending anything. For dental treatment, the first clinical appointment is a 30-minute examination (£65) including intra-oral scan and photographs. Invisalign consultations are free. For aesthetic medicine, the consultation is £65, redeemable in full against treatment. For wellness, it's a longer 60–90 minute initial consultation specific to the practitioner.
