If you are searching for a dentist in Holloway, you will find several practices along Holloway Road, and most of them can fit you in for a check-up. N7 is well served. So the real question is not where the nearest chair is. It is what kind of dentistry you want for the next twenty years, and who you trust to think that far ahead.
Dental & Wellness London is a short journey south, at 222 Essex Road, Islington, London N1 3AP. Patients from Nag’s Head, Hornsey Road, Tufnell Park and the streets around Highbury Corner come to us for private dentistry, hygiene, cosmetic work and Invisalign, and for the skin and wellness care in the same building. We have been on Essex Road since 2009, we are rated 4.7 from more than 300 Google reviews, and we are a private practice that does not provide NHS treatment.
This page explains how to reach us from Holloway, what Holloway patients book most often, where we differ from the practices you will pass on the way, and what a first visit costs.
A quick appointment at a high-street practice solves today’s problem, and for a straightforward check-up that may be all you need. For anything longer term, such as straightening, cosmetic work, an implant or gums that keep bleeding, a few questions matter more than distance.
You do not need a referral, and you do not need to leave your current dentist to come to us for a one-off opinion or a cosmetic consultation.
Patients from the northern end of N7, around Nag’s Head and Tufnell Park, often find the bus to Highbury Corner and one stop on the train simplest. Those living closer to Highbury tend to cycle or walk. If you drive, there is metered parking on the surrounding streets, though for most Holloway patients public transport or a bike is quicker than finding a space.
Holloway has plenty of competent dentists. What Holloway patients tell us they were looking for, and did not find on the high street, is a practice that explains its reasoning and treats the mouth as part of the body rather than a set of teeth to be fixed in isolation. The promise is simple: an honest consultation, not a sales conversation.
A clinician-led practice. Dr Vishal Patel holds an MSc in Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry from Manchester, is an AACD member and has been in practice for around twenty years. He plans cosmetic and orthodontic cases himself, so the person who designs your treatment is the person responsible for it.
Invisalign at Diamond II level. With Invisalign, which Dr Patel plans himself as a Diamond II provider, we prefer arch expansion to extraction where the teeth allow.
Implants from an implant dentist. Implant treatment is carried out by Dr Rishil Patel, who holds an MClinDent in Implantology and has trained specifically in this work.
The mouth as part of the body. When recurring gum inflammation, clenching or tooth wear shows up, we look at sleep, stress and diet alongside the bite, rather than treating the surface and sending you on your way. We are careful never to overclaim what dentistry can do for general health, but we take the signals seriously.
We see patients of all ages for examinations, hygiene and general dentistry, and we can often arrange family appointments back to back. Finance at 0% APR over 12 months is available for larger plans. For an overview of routine care, see our page on choosing a private dentist in Islington.
Both of our hygiene appointments are 30 minutes: a regular appointment at £85 with a deep clean included, or a Diamond clean with air polish at £135. If your gums need more time than one visit allows, we tell you during the appointment and book a second visit at the regular price. Gum disease treatment is a separate treatment from hygiene, at £255, and we explain the difference clearly if you need it.
Bleeding when you brush is common, but it is not normal, and it is often the first sign that the gums need attention. A hygiene visit removes the hard deposits you cannot reach at home and shows you where your brushing and cleaning between the teeth are missing. Where there are signs of gum disease, such as deeper pockets around the teeth or bone loss on X-ray, a hygiene visit alone is not enough, and we will explain what periodontal treatment involves before anything is booked.
Every cosmetic plan is designed with your future in mind. We know what happens to lips, teeth and smiles as we age, so we plan for how your smile will look in ten and twenty years rather than for a single photograph. Where it is possible, we keep your own tooth structure, because enamel removed for a restoration cannot be put back.
A common belief is that a better smile means veneers. In practice, many people are well served by whitening, a small amount of bonding, or a short course of aligners first. Where porcelain veneers are the right choice, they range from £750 to £1,500 per tooth, and we will explain why we recommend them over a more conservative option. Because Dr Patel is trained in both aesthetic and restorative dentistry, every cosmetic decision is also a functional one: how the teeth meet, how the bite is loaded, and how long the work is likely to last. Results vary, and we will tell you honestly what is realistic for your teeth. There is more detail on our page about veneers in Islington.
With Invisalign, we look at how the teeth support the smile from within, preferring arch expansion to extraction where the teeth allow. That combined aesthetic and restorative view is something a direct-to-consumer aligner brand cannot offer, and something a busy high-street practice rarely has the time to think through.
Alongside dentistry, we offer facial aesthetics and skin treatments, including anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers in Islington, HydraFacial and medical-grade peels. A skin or aesthetic consultation is £65, redeemable in full against treatment. Every prescription treatment begins with a consultation and is prescribed and administered by Dr Vishal Patel, who has ten years of experience in facial aesthetics. Where a skin concern needs medical treatment, we will refer you to your GP or a dermatologist.
The clinic’s wellness team includes Dr Reena Sohal (Ayurvedic consultations), Nicoletta Peloni (nutritional therapy), Laura-Maria Schober (somatic coaching and mindfulness) and Binta Patel (life and relationship coaching). They support general wellbeing alongside your GP, not instead of them.
The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm (Tuesday from 9am), by appointment. We are closed at weekends and do not take walk-ins, so please call 020 8127 4567, message us on WhatsApp, or book online before you come. The early and late weekday slots suit many N7 patients who travel before or after work. Every cost is set out in a written plan before any treatment begins.
Nearby areas we also serve: Highbury, Angel and Canonbury. Patients also travel from Shoreditch.
