| 1. Detailed Case History (40–50 minutes) | Comprehensive intake covering current concerns, medical history, family patterns, dietary patterns and history (food diary review if relevant), digestive function, sleep, stress, supplement and medication use, and lifestyle factors. This is the foundation of the individualised protocol. |
| 2. Clinical Assessment (10–15 minutes) | Where relevant — observational assessment, weight and height check, sometimes functional testing referral (clinical tools, not diagnostic substitutes for medical tests). |
| 3. Discussion and Recommendation (25–35 minutes) | Nicoletta explains what she's observed and the protocol that fits your specific picture. Concrete recommendations include: dietary changes, eating-pattern adjustments, specific food additions or removals, supplement protocols where appropriate (with rationale and dosing), lifestyle adjustments, and any referrals. |
| 4. Coordination (5 minutes) | Where the work intersects with other DWL services — dental hygiene, Ayurvedic consultation, somatic sessions, etc. |

"Nutritionist" is loosely used in the UK — anyone can call themselves one without specific training. "Nutritional therapist" usually denotes practitioners trained in clinical nutritional assessment, typically registered with mGNC, mANP, or BANT. "Registered dietitian" is a state-protected title requiring HCPC registration.
The work is more structured than a one-off diet plan. The initial consultation covers detailed case history; recommendations are individualised; follow-up reviews refine and adjust. For a quick general healthy-eating plan, NHS guidance or an app may fit better.
No. Nicoletta's practice aims for minimum effective intervention. The dietary work is usually the foundation; supplements are added where specific need is identified, not as a default upsell.
No. Medication decisions are made by your GP or consultant. Some patients find sustained nutritional and lifestyle work reduces the dose of certain medications over time, but this is a medical decision, not a nutritional one.
The UK doesn't have statutory regulation for nutritional therapists. Voluntary professional registration through mGNC, mANP, and BANT provides accountability. State-registered dietitians have statutory protection for the title — a different professional category.
Active eating disorders need specialist eating-disorder services. Nutritional therapy isn't appropriate as primary care for eating disorders. We refer to specialist services, though we may support patients in stable recovery alongside their specialist care.
Yes. Nicoletta works specifically with breastfeeding-safe protocols — supplement recommendations and dietary changes compatible with lactation. Some Ayurvedic and herbal protocols are deferred during breastfeeding.
