What hours are you open?

General

Monday–Friday 8am–7pm (Tuesday from 9am) by appointment. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Late appointments available on selected weekdays — call to discuss.

What happens if my treatment doesn't correct function?

General

Continued bite issues post-treatment require additional intervention — sometimes further orthodontic work, sometimes restorative dentistry to compensate, sometimes TMJ management. Cost compounds; outcome compromised.

What does the GDC say about DTC?

General

GDC has taken enforcement action against UK-registered dentists associated with DTC providers for failing to meet clinical standards. The professional body's position is consistent with our concerns.

What does Diamond II Provider mean?

General

Top 1% of UK Invisalign providers by treatment volume. Reflects substantial experience handling complex cases. About 200+ Invisalign cases placed annually.

What causes recurring ulcers?

General

Most commonly nutritional deficiencies (B12, iron, folate), gut conditions, hormonal triggers, stress, immune patterns, or local irritants (SLS toothpaste). The combined approach at DWL can investigate these alongside basic dental assessment.

What are your hours?

General

Monday–Friday 8am–7pm (Tuesday from 9am) by appointment. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

What age do jowls start?

General

Subtle changes often visible from late 30s; recognisable jowls typically from late 40s; established jowling commonly 50s+. Individual variation is wide based on genetics, sun exposure, weight changes, and skincare history.

What about retention?

General

Vivera retainers full-time for first 3 months post-treatment, then nightly indefinitely. Without retention teeth move back over time — this isn't Invisalign-specific, it's true for any orthodontic treatment.

Should I have my wisdom teeth out?

General

Sometimes — if wisdom teeth pressure contributed to relapse and they remain in position, removal may help prevent future re-relapse. Assessed at consultation; not always indicated.

Parking near you?

General

Paid on-street parking on Essex Road, Halton Road, and surrounding streets. No private clinic parking. Off-peak times generally easier; allow extra time during weekday rush hours.

Is your clinic accessible?

General

Ground floor, step-free entry, accessible toilet. Let reception know in advance if you need specific accommodations.

Is your area safe at night?

General

Yes — Essex Road and surrounding Islington streets are well-lit, residential, and busy with evening foot traffic from Upper Street and Camden Passage. The 6-minute walk from Angel feels safe at all standard appointment hours.

Is there a guarantee?

General

No — we won't guarantee what we can't deliver. Honest probability assessment at consultation is more valuable than commercial guarantees that don't reflect biological reality.

Is there a cheap in-clinic alternative to DTC?

General

Yes. Invisalign Express (£2,200, with one refinement) offers proper clinical care for mild cases, with a free iTero scan and ClinCheck at consultation. It is a real alternative to direct-to-consumer aligners for cost-conscious patients.

Is the wellness model for serious health issues?

General

The wellness practitioners work alongside (not in place of) conventional medical care. For serious medical conditions, primary care remains with your GP. The wellness team provides complementary support — nutritional therapy, somatic regulation, Ayurvedic constitutional input, coaching — that often combines well with medical management.

Is the patch test free?

General

Yes — included with the first consultation. The patch test assesses how your skin responds to the laser energy before committing to a full treatment plan. Important safety step we don't skip.

Is the device brand important?

General

Less than marketing suggests. Operator skill, settings calibration, and the quality of the consultation and protocol matter more than the brand badge on the laser. At DWL tattoo removal uses a Q-switched laser, and laser hair removal uses the Lynton Nd:YAG laser or Lynton IPL, chosen by skin type.

Is the anti-ageing approach for everyone?

General

Offered to every patient; preferred by most once explained. Some patients prioritise short-term fix and choose Express or Inman accordingly. We respect preference.

What if I can’t afford the dentist?

General

If cost is the main concern, NHS dental care is the lowest-cost route, and NHS 111 or the NHS website can help you find a practice. With us, a £65 examination gives you a written plan that separates what is urgent from what can wait, so treatment can be phased.

Is saline removal safer?

General

For specific cosmetic tattoo pigments at risk of paradoxical darkening, yes — saline doesn't trigger oxidation reactions that laser can. For body tattoos and responsive cosmetic pigments, laser is safer and more effective. Safety depends on which method matches the pigment.

Is PicoWay better?

General

PicoWay is a picosecond system, whereas we use a Q-switched laser. Both are established approaches, and for most tattoos operator skill and a sensible treatment plan matter more than the brand badge. We would explain what to expect for your tattoo at consultation.

Is picosecond always better?

General

Not always. Picosecond lasers can need fewer sessions for some stubborn pigments, but Q-switched lasers are well established and effective for most tattoos. We use a Q-switched laser, and the free patch test and consultation establish what to expect for your tattoo. Results vary.

Is jowl treatment safe?

General

Non-surgical treatments are generally safe when performed by experienced practitioners. Each modality has its specific risk profile (covered at consultation). Surgical face lift carries the risks of any surgical procedure — discussed with surgical colleagues at referral.

Is it the same as crow's feet?

General

No — different anatomy. Crow's feet are caused by the orbicularis oculi muscle around the eye. Bunny lines are caused by the nasalis muscle across the nose. Different muscles, different treatments.
