What is a mandibular advancement device?

Dental

A mandibular advancement device (MAD) is a custom appliance with two linked trays that fit over your upper and lower teeth. It holds the lower jaw, and with it the tongue, a few millimetres forward during sleep, widening the airway so there is less soft tissue to vibrate. Most are adjustable in small steps.

How much is a custom anti-snoring device?

Dental

At Dental & Wellness London, a custom anti-snoring device is quoted in writing after assessment, because the design depends on your teeth, bite and jaw. You start with a dental examination (£65, 30 minutes). The quotation covers the device, fitting and adjustment visits, and 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo is available, subject to status.

Where is the clinic?

Dental

We are at 222 Essex Road, Islington, London N1 3AP, two minutes from Essex Road station. Buses 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 stop nearby, and Angel is a 15–20 minute walk. Many patients from across north and east London travel to us for implant treatment.

How do I clean an All-on-4 bridge?

Dental

The bridge stays in, so you clean around and under it each day with a toothbrush, interdental brushes and a water flosser or floss threaders. You will be shown how at the fit appointment. Regular 30-minute hygiene visits and periodic professional removal of the bridge help protect the implants long term.

Is All-on-4 better than a denture?

Dental

It is more stable, covers less of the palate and feels closer to natural teeth, but it involves surgery and a higher cost. An implant-retained overdenture, which clips on to two to four implants, is a good middle path for many patients. We compare the options against your scan at consultation.

Am I too old for All-on-4?

Dental

Age alone is rarely the deciding factor. What matters is your general health, your bone, your medicines and your ability to keep the bridge clean. Many people in their seventies and eighties have full arch implants. We review your medical history carefully and liaise with your GP where needed.

Will I leave with teeth on the day of surgery?

Dental

In most cases, yes. The provisional bridge is designed before surgery and fitted on the same day the implants are placed. It is fixed, not removable, though you will need a softer diet while the implants heal. The final, stronger bridge is fitted three to six months later.

How much does All-on-4 cost in London?

Dental

Full arch costs depend on extractions, bone, any grafting and the material of the final bridge, so we quote in writing after assessment, itemised so you can see what is included. The implant consultation is £120, and 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo is available, subject to status.

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

Dental

All-on-4 is a way of replacing every tooth in one jaw with a fixed bridge supported by four implants. The two back implants are angled to use the denser bone at the front of the jaw, which often avoids grafting. At Dental & Wellness London, treatment is assessed and placed by our implant dentist, Dr Rishil Patel.

Can I pay for Invisalign Unlimited monthly?

Dental

Yes. We offer 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status, which spreads the Unlimited fee into twelve equal monthly payments. The total and monthly amount are set out in writing with your plan, so you can consider it at home before deciding.

How many refinements does Unlimited include?

Dental

The Unlimited plan is designed so that refinements are made as the case requires, rather than capped at a set number, and it includes multi-year aligner cover; full terms and conditions apply. Your written plan sets out exactly what the fee covers and for how long before you commit, so you can compare it fairly with any other quote.

Do I need the Unlimited plan?

Dental

Only if your case is complex. Many adults are well served by Moderate, and small corrections by Express. We recommend the plan that fits your teeth, and we will tell you plainly if a simpler plan will reach the result you want. That decision is made after the free consultation, not before.

What is the difference between Moderate and Unlimited?

Dental

Moderate, at £3,400, is a defined plan for mild to moderate crowding or spacing with some bite adjustment. Unlimited, at £4,500–£4,900, is for complex or full-arch cases, such as real bite correction or larger crowding, with aligners provided as the case requires. Your scan and ClinCheck decide which applies.

What happened to the 5-Year Unlimited plan?

Dental

We have retired the "5-Year", "Lite" and "Comprehensive" names and now use three plans: Express, Moderate and Unlimited. Cases once described as five-year or comprehensive usually fall within Unlimited, at £4,500–£4,900. Your written plan sets out exactly what the fee covers, with retainers quoted alongside it.

How much is the Invisalign Unlimited plan?

Dental

At Dental & Wellness London, Invisalign Unlimited is £4,500–£4,900. The figure within that range depends on the complexity confirmed by your ClinCheck. Our other plans are Express at £2,200 and Moderate at £3,400. The consultation, iTero scan and ClinCheck preview are free, and the fee is confirmed in writing before you commit.

Where can I get dental veneers in Islington?

Dental

Dental & Wellness London is at 222 Essex Road, Islington N1 3AP, two minutes from Essex Road station and on the 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 bus routes. Veneers are planned and placed by Dr Vishal Patel, MSc Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry, GDC 103127. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm (Tuesday from 9am), by appointment.

Do I need straight teeth before veneers?

Dental

Not always, but it often helps. Veneering crowded or rotated teeth can mean removing more enamel to create an even line. Straightening first, often with Invisalign, usually allows thinner veneers or makes them unnecessary. Orthodontic consultations at our Islington clinic are free and include an iTero scan, so you can compare both routes before deciding.

Can I whiten my teeth after getting veneers?

Dental

Whitening does not change the colour of veneers, only natural teeth. That is why, if you would like lighter teeth overall, we complete whitening two to four weeks before veneers and match the veneers to the new shade. Combination whitening at our clinic is £780, and it is planned into your written treatment plan where it is needed.

Does getting veneers hurt?

Dental

Most patients find the process comfortable. Composite veneers often need no anaesthetic at all. For porcelain and Emax veneers, the preparation visit is carried out under local anaesthetic, and temporary veneers protect the teeth while the laboratory works. Some mild sensitivity for a few days afterwards is common and usually settles on its own.

How long do veneers last?

Dental

Composite veneers typically last around five to seven years before they need refreshing. Porcelain and Emax veneers commonly last ten to fifteen years or more. Longevity depends on your bite, whether you grind your teeth, your home care and regular hygiene visits. Results vary, and no restoration is permanent, so we plan with future maintenance in mind.

Are composite or porcelain veneers better?

Dental

Neither is better in every case. Composite needs little or no enamel removal, is placed in one visit and can be repaired, but it stains and wears sooner. Porcelain and Emax need a light enamel reduction and two visits, but they resist staining and commonly last ten to fifteen years or more. We recommend whichever is proportionate to your teeth, bite and goals.

How much do veneers cost in London?

Dental

At Dental & Wellness London, composite veneers cost £350–£500 per tooth, porcelain veneers £750–£1,050 per tooth and Emax veneers £1,050–£1,500 per tooth. Your total depends on the number of teeth and any preparatory hygiene or whitening. Everything is set out in a written plan after your £65 consultation, and 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo is available, subject to status.

Where can I get professional teeth whitening near Islington?

Dental

We are at 222 Essex Road, Islington, London N1 3AP, two minutes from Essex Road station and one stop from Highbury & Islington. Buses 38, 56, 73, 341 and 476 stop nearby, and Angel is 15 to 20 minutes on foot. Appointments are Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm (Tuesday from 9am).

Can I whiten my teeth if I have sensitive teeth?

Dental

Often, yes, with adjustments. We may use a lower-strength gel, shorter wear times or a desensitising toothpaste before and during treatment. If sensitivity is caused by exposed roots, decay or cracks, those need treating first. Tell us about any sensitivity at your examination so we can adapt the plan or advise if whitening is not suitable.

How long does whitening take?

Dental

Home whitening with custom trays usually takes around two weeks of daily or nightly wear. In-chair whitening is a single appointment. The combined plan pairs both, so most patients reach their result within two to three weeks of their trays being fitted. Bonding or veneers to match are best planned around two weeks after whitening finishes.
