Dr Rishil Patel qualified BDS (Hons) at King's College London in 2008 and holds an MClinDent in Implantology and the MJDF (GDC 154292). He assesses, places and restores implants at the clinic Dr Vishal Patel founded on Essex Road in 2009.
Implants suit most adults with healthy gums who are missing one or more teeth. Active gum disease, smoking and some medical conditions need attention first, and we will tell you plainly if another option would serve you better. Results vary between patients.

More detail: dental implants in Islington.
| Free consultation | Examination, medical history, imaging, and a discussion of every option, including the ones that are not implants. You leave with a written plan and quotation. |
| Placement | A surgical appointment, usually under local anaesthetic. Most patients are comfortable within a day or two. A temporary solution covers the gap where the site is visible. |
| Healing | Typically three to six months depending on the site, bone quality and whether grafting was involved. We review during this period. |
| Restoration | Once the implant has fused with the bone, we take scans and fit the final crown, bridge or denture. |
| Maintenance | Regular hygienist care and reviews help the implant last. |
Prices are set out below. Your written plan confirms the fee before any treatment begins.

Implants are assessed and placed by Dr Rishil Patel, our implant dentist. He qualified BDS (Hons) from King's College London in 2008 and holds an MClinDent in Implantology and the MJDF; his GDC number is 154292. He plans each case from the first assessment through to the final crown at 222 Essex Road, N1 3AP.
Thin or shallow bone is common where a tooth has been missing for some time. It rarely rules implants out: bone grafting, and in the upper back jaw a sinus lift, can often rebuild enough volume. Grafting is quoted in writing after assessment. Where grafting is not sensible, a bridge or denture may be the better answer.
It depends on the teeth either side. If they are healthy, an implant avoids cutting them down and helps preserve the bone. If they already need crowns, a bridge can be quicker and sensible. We explain both at consultation, with written quotations, so you can compare like with like before deciding.
A well-placed implant in a healthy, well-maintained mouth can last for many years, and the evidence for carefully selected cases is strong. Results vary, though, and no implant is guaranteed for life. The crown may need replacing over time through ordinary wear. Regular hygiene visits, reviews and not smoking make the biggest difference to longevity.
Free until 17 January 2027. Call 020 8127 4567 or message us on WhatsApp, and we will find a time with Dr Rishil Patel.
