A dentist-injector's view of the booster that started the category — and where it still wins
Restylane Skinboosters are micro-droplets of soft hyaluronic acid placed evenly across the skin — face, neck, hands or décolletage — to improve hydration, firmness and texture over a short course. At Dental & Wellness London, Islington, they sit within our £200–£500 per-session skin-booster range, administered by Dr Vishal Patel with a written course plan before you commit.
This page is part of our wider guide to skin boosters, which sets out every option we offer side by side.
| Course Protocol — 3 sessions, 4 weeks apart, £200-£500 per session | A classic course is three sessions, spaced about four weeks apart. Some areas and some skins do well with two; your written plan states the number before anything is booked. Each visit: numbing cream, then the micro-droplet pattern across the area — more injection points than other boosters, each very superficial and very quick. Expect small blebs and possible pinpoint marks for a day or two, occasionally a light bruise, especially on the neck and hands. Make-up off the points for a day; saunas and hard training paused for 48 hours. Most patients are presentable immediately and back to everything by the weekend. Results follow the course rather than the first visit: hydration builds week by week, with the honest assessment point about a month after the final session, judged against baseline photographs rather than memory. |
| Maintenance — Every 6 months, single session | After the initial course, maintenance sessions are typically every six months to sustain the hydration floor. The number of sessions and exact timing are reviewed at the follow-up appointment. |
Prices are set out below. Your written plan confirms the fee before any treatment begins.

| Typical course (3 sessions) | £600–£1,500 |

Same manufacturer and same hyaluronic-acid family, different job. Restylane fillers are firmer gels that shape and volumise; Skinboosters are soft micro-droplets that hydrate and condition without changing contours.
Typically three sessions, a month apart, then maintenance around every six months. Some areas do well with two. The exact number is fixed in your written plan before you book.
Yes — that's arguably where the micro-droplet technique is strongest: even coverage of crepey neck skin, sun-spotted décolletage, and papery hands.
The hydration effect typically holds around six months after a completed course, which sets the maintenance rhythm. Age, sun exposure and smoking shorten it; good skincare extends it.
A day or two of small blebs and possible pinpoint marks, occasionally a light bruise — slightly more visible on the neck and hands than the face. Most patients carry on as normal immediately.
Different tools. Profhilo spreads from a few points and suits early laxity and dehydration in the lower face; Skinboosters place an even lattice of micro-droplets and suit larger, tougher or more sun-exposed areas. A skin assessment decides, not brand loyalty.
