Profhilo aftercare — what to expect and how to support the result

Profhilo aftercare focuses on supporting the biostimulator response over the first eight weeks. For the first 24 hours expect small bumps at the injection sites that resolve within hours; avoid touching or massaging the area and do not exercise. For two weeks avoid heat treatments — sauna, steam, hot yoga — facials, and other aesthetic treatments to let the product integrate.

Why aftercare matters more than for filler

With Profhilo treatment you're supporting a biological response — collagen and elastin production developing over eight to twelve weeks. Too much too soon can interfere with that integration.

The first hour

Ten small bumps at injection sites — not swelling or bruising. Normal: mild redness, slight tenderness, a tight sensation. Call if you notice pallor, severe pain, growing bumps, or vision change.

The first 24 hours

Bumps typically reduce within four to six hours. Avoid: touching or massaging sites, makeup over them, exercise, alcohol, lying flat (sleep slightly propped). Fine: water, eating normally, talking, smiling, office work, walking.

The first 48 hours

Bumps should be gone; some transient swelling settles by day three. From 48 hours: light mineral makeup, light cardio, normal showering.

The first two weeks — integration window

Avoid: sauna, steam, hot yoga, hot baths, sunbeds, intense heat-raising exercise, facials/microneedling/peels/laser/radiofrequency, other aesthetic treatments, heavy massage, consistent face-down sleeping.

Weeks 2-8 — the biostimulator response

Helps: hydration, sleep, daily SPF, a vitamin-C/antioxidant routine. Undercuts it: heavy alcohol, smoking, sun without SPF, crash dieting. The second session at four weeks is not optional — skipping it loses roughly half the long-term effect.

The 4-week review

The second of two starting sessions; 48-hour and two-week aftercare resets from that day.

The 8-week review

Photographed and assessed in matched lighting; maintenance timing discussed, typically six to nine months out. If you are weighing it against filler, our Profhilo versus dermal fillers comparison sets out the difference.

If something doesn't feel right

Bumps lasting longer than expected, temporary asymmetry, or an underwhelming initial effect are usually fine and settle by week four to six. For severe pain, pallor, vision changes, or signs of infection after 72 hours, call directly.
