Profhilo results timeline — week by week

Profhilo results develop gradually as the biostimulator triggers collagen and elastin production. Most patients notice improved hydration and glow within seven to ten days of the first session, with firmness and tone becoming visible four to eight weeks after the second session. Peak result lands eight to twelve weeks after the two-session course; longevity is typically six to nine months before a top-up.

Why the timeline is the whole story

Profhilo is not filler — the meaningful result develops over weeks as your own collagen and elastin respond, unlike filler's immediate volume.

Day 1

Ten small firm bumps at injection sites, sometimes with mild redness. This is the product spreading into tissue — not swelling or bruising. No visible improvement yet. Our Profhilo aftercare guide covers the first 48 hours.

Days 1-2

Bumps resolve within four to six hours for most; a few linger up to 36 hours.

Days 3-7

Skin starts looking subtly more hydrated — the immediate hyaluronic-acid effect.

Week 2

Fibroblasts begin upregulating collagen production, but no visible firmness change yet — the most underwhelming point in the timeline, and entirely normal.

Week 4 — second session

The second of two starting sessions reinforces the response while the first round is still producing collagen — skipping it loses roughly half the long-term effect.

Week 6

Firmness becomes visibly better, texture refinement begins.

Week 8 — review

Photographed in matched lighting; firmness, hydration, texture and tone assessed. Where the response is less strong, a top-up (£350, if elected) is discussed.

Week 12 — peak result

Maximum firmness and texture improvement — "refreshed but not different", proportionate treatment and natural aesthetics rather than visible change.

Month 6 — first maintenance window

Firmness may begin easing around months five to six. First maintenance session typically booked six to nine months from the course's end, £350.

Year 1, 2, 3 — the cumulative effect

Patients in their third or fourth year of maintenance often have better skin quality than at their first session — the response is cumulative, not a simple replacement.

The bottom line

Do not judge Profhilo at week two or four. The result develops between weeks six and twelve after the course.

Frequently asked questions

When will I see results? Hydration and glow within seven to ten days; firmness weeks six to eight; peak at eight to twelve weeks.

Why doesn't it work immediately? Because it's a biostimulator, not a filler — see Profhilo versus dermal fillers — different mechanisms, different timescales.

How long do results last? Six to nine months for most patients.

Will I need a top-up? Yes, usually a maintenance session every six to nine months at £350.

Can I see before-and-after photos? Not publicly, per GDC and ASA rules — shared with you individually at your review. Our Profhilo before-and-after explainer describes what typically changes.
