Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses dermal filler to refine specific aspects of the nose — straightening a dorsal bump, lifting a drooping tip, improving asymmetry — without surgery.
A non-surgical nose job uses small amounts of hyaluronic acid dermal filler to smooth a bump, lift the tip or improve symmetry, without surgery. It takes about 30 minutes, results are visible immediately and last 12 to 18 months, and it can be reversed. It does not make the nose smaller. At Dental & Wellness London, Islington, it is carried out by Dr Vishal Patel. Consultation £65, redeemable; dermal filler from £350.

A non-surgical nose job, also called non-surgical rhinoplasty or liquid rhinoplasty, uses small, precise amounts of hyaluronic acid dermal filler to change the profile of the nose without surgery. It can smooth the appearance of a bump, lift a drooping tip, straighten a slight asymmetry and improve the balance between the nose, lips and chin. Treatment takes about 30 minutes, it needs only topical numbing, and the change is visible straight away.
The most important thing to understand is what the treatment actually does. Filler adds volume, so it reshapes by adding, not by making the nose smaller. That sounds counter-intuitive, but placing a small amount of filler above and below a bump on the bridge can produce a straighter-looking profile, because the eye reads the new continuous line rather than the bump. Supporting and lifting the tip with a few careful placements can make the whole nose look more refined and less heavy. This is a treatment of contour and proportion, not reduction.
If you want your nose reduced in size, or have breathing problems, surgical rhinoplasty with a surgeon is the right route, and we will say so.
In the right person, nose filler addresses a defined set of concerns:
What unites all of these is that they are questions of contour and proportion. The nose is never read on its own. Its apparent size and shape depend on the chin, the lips, the cheeks and the overall proportions of the face. Sometimes the most natural improvement to a profile comes from supporting the chin rather than adding more to the nose, and we will tell you if that is the case.
An honest page sets out the limits before anything else. A non-surgical nose job cannot make a large nose smaller. It cannot correct breathing problems, a deviated septum or any other functional airway issue; those are medical questions for an ENT surgeon, and we will refer you to your GP. It cannot correct a markedly crooked nose where the bone and cartilage themselves are the problem, and it cannot narrow wide nostrils or change the bony framework.
A consultation that ends with “this is not the right treatment for you” is a successful consultation. The alternative costs people money and disappointment.
It is less likely to suit you if your main concern is overall size, if you have breathing symptoms, if you have had very recent nasal surgery, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We also take care where expectations are for a large change; filler in the nose is about millimetres.
The nose has a delicate blood supply, and it is one of the higher-risk areas of the face to inject. The small arteries that supply the nose connect, through the angular artery, with the vessels around the eye. That anatomy is why filler placed in the wrong plane can, rarely but seriously, compromise the blood supply to the skin, and very rarely affect vision. Safe treatment depends on detailed anatomical knowledge, conservative volumes and careful technique.
Dr Vishal Patel has ten years of experience in facial aesthetics and around twenty years in dentistry, working every day close to the vital facial structures, blood vessels, nerves and muscles of the lower face. His training includes the International Fellowship in Advanced Aesthetic Science (IFAAS), Harley Academy, and a facial anatomy and cadaver course with Dr Ali Pirayesh at the University of Amsterdam. His MSc in Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry trains the same instinct a good nose result needs: proportionate treatment, natural aesthetics and facial balance, read across the whole face rather than one feature.
Prescribed and administered by Dr Vishal Patel, BDS, MSc Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry, GDC 103127, the clinic’s sole aesthetic prescriber. He plans and performs every nose filler treatment himself.
The appointment itself takes about 30 minutes. Most people describe the sensation as mild pressure and brief discomfort rather than pain, and you can return to work the same day.
Most people see the result immediately, with mild swelling for a day or two and occasionally a small bruise at an injection point. The final shape is usually settled within a week or two. Results typically last 12 to 18 months; filler in the nose often lasts longer than in more mobile parts of the face, because the skin over the bridge moves very little. Longevity varies with the product, the amount used and the individual, and results vary from person to person. We do not promise a particular outcome.
Because we use hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if ever needed. Dissolving is £180, and we keep it on site as a routine safety measure, so that a result can be reversed or a vascular concern treated promptly.
The most important risk of any nose filler is vascular occlusion, where filler enters or presses on a blood vessel and blocks the blood supply to the tissue it feeds. Untreated, this can damage the skin and, very rarely, affect sight. We reduce that risk with a careful anatomical assessment, cannula technique where appropriate, conservative volumes and slow injection, and we are prepared to act immediately if it is ever suspected.
Any change in skin colour, increasing pain or blanching after treatment needs urgent review, and we give you a direct contact number. Contact us at once, too, if you notice a dusky or mottled patch of skin or any change in your vision. Prompt treatment is what protects the tissue.
We give you written aftercare and a review appointment.
The two answer different questions. A liquid rhinoplasty reshapes contour by adding filler. It is done under topical numbing, with same-day return to normal life, it lasts 12 to 18 months and it can be reversed. It cannot reduce size or correct breathing. Surgical rhinoplasty physically reshapes bone and cartilage under general anaesthetic, with weeks of recovery and swelling, and the change is permanent; it can reduce size and correct function, and any revision is surgical.
If the concern is a small bump, a drooping tip or minor asymmetry, the non-surgical route is a reasonable place to start. If it is overall size, significant structural deviation or breathing, filler will not address it and surgery is the honest answer. The consultation establishes which question your nose is asking.
Nose filler sits within our dermal filler treatments, which start from £350. The price for your treatment depends on how much filler your nose needs, which is usually a small amount, and is confirmed in writing at consultation before anything is done, with no additions on the day. The £65 skin and aesthetic consultation is redeemable in full against treatment. Finance is available at 0% APR over 12 months. See our dermal fillers page for the other areas we treat, including cheek filler.
A nose filler should never be rushed into, and we approach it as we approach all aesthetic work: considered, conservative and planned around the whole face. If your concern sits nearer the eyes, see our guide to dark circles. Dental & Wellness London has been a private practice on Essex Road since 2009 and is rated 4.7 from more than 300 Google reviews.

At Dental & Wellness London, Islington, dermal filler is from £350, and your exact fee depends on how much is needed. The aesthetic consultation is £65, redeemable in full against treatment.
It can be done safely by an experienced injector, but it is not risk-free. The nose has a delicate blood supply, so anatomical knowledge, small volumes and careful technique matter. Dr Vishal Patel carries out every treatment.
Most people describe mild discomfort rather than pain. A numbing cream is applied first, and the filler contains local anaesthetic.
Usually 12 to 18 months, sometimes longer, before a top-up is needed.
No. Filler adds volume, so it reshapes and balances rather than reduces. For a smaller nose, surgical rhinoplasty is the right option.
Often, yes. Filler placed above and below a small to moderate bump can make the bridge look straighter.
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed (£180).
Surgical rhinoplasty permanently reshapes bone and cartilage and can reduce size, with a longer recovery. A non-surgical nose job refines the profile temporarily with filler and no downtime.
