Why sequencing matters
As Invisalign moves teeth, the relationship between teeth, gums and lips changes. A lip flip placed for a pre-Invisalign smile is often wrong for the post-Invisalign smile — the most common reason patients regret combining the two out of order. If gum show is the main concern, our guide to gummy smile treatment with botulinum toxin may help.
The recommended sequencing
Consultation and joint planning, Invisalign first to final position, a 6-month retention period to confirm stability, re-assessment for lip flip, then lip flip last if still indicated.
When lip flip during Invisalign is acceptable
For events during treatment (wedding, photos), very late-stage Invisalign with minimal further movement, or cases where the front teeth aren't moving significantly.

Why DWL is set up well for combined plans
Dr Vishal Patel is both an Invisalign Diamond II Provider and the sole aesthetic prescriber — the same clinician maps both treatments together rather than two separate clinicians with incomplete information.
Cost considerations
Worked example: Invisalign Moderate (£3,400) + initial lip flip (£169) = £3,569 over 14-18 months, with 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status, available on the Invisalign component.
