Dentist showing a seated patient a dental model — Invisalign cost

The honest answer to Invisalign cost UK searches is that there is no single price, because Invisalign is not one treatment. It is a range, from a few aligners for a small correction at the front to as many as a complex case needs. At Dental & Wellness London we keep that range to three clear plans: Invisalign Express £2,200, Invisalign Moderate £3,400 and Invisalign Unlimited £4,500–£4,900. The consultation, including an iTero scan and ClinCheck preview, is free.

Below we explain what each plan covers, what moves a case from one to the next, which costs to ask about when comparing quotes, and how finance works. For how the treatment itself works, see our Invisalign page.

Invisalign cost UK: the three plans we offer

The right plan follows the case, not the patient's preference. Some people arrive set on Express and need Moderate to reach the result they are picturing; others ask about Unlimited when Express would do. The scan and the ClinCheck plan decide.

Invisalign Express: £2,200

For minimal movement: slight crowding of the front teeth, small gaps, or a little relapse after braces in the teenage years. Treatment is usually a matter of months. Express is not designed for bite correction or significant rotation.

Invisalign Moderate: £3,400

For mild to moderate crowding or spacing, visible front-tooth correction and some bite adjustment. This is where many adult cases sit.

Invisalign Unlimited: £4,500–£4,900

For complex or full-arch cases: real bite correction, multiple rotations, larger crowding and treatment of both arches together, with as many aligners as the case requires. The plan includes multi-year aligner cover; full terms and conditions apply. The figure within the range depends on the complexity confirmed by your ClinCheck.

You may see older plan names elsewhere, such as "Lite", "Comprehensive" or "5-Year". We have replaced these with the three plans above. Single-arch cases usually fall within Express or Moderate depending on the movement needed; dual-arch and complex cases usually fall within Moderate or Unlimited. Our pages on single-arch Invisalign cost, both-arches Invisalign cost and the unlimited aligners plan explain where each kind of case sits.

What Invisalign is, and why the cost varies

Invisalign moves teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners, each shaped slightly differently from the last. Worn for 20 to 22 hours a day, each set moves selected teeth a fraction of a millimetre. Every movement is planned in advance from a digital scan, and small tooth-coloured attachments are sometimes bonded to teeth to help the aligners grip.

When two people receive different quotes, the difference almost always comes down to the same factors:

  • How far the teeth need to move. Tipping a front tooth is quick and predictable; rotation, root movement and bite correction need more aligners, more attachments and more planning time.
  • One arch or both. Treating only the upper or lower teeth usually needs fewer aligners than moving both together.
  • Refinements. Many cases benefit from a short extra series of aligners at the end to fine-tune the finish. Our article on Invisalign refinements explains why.
  • Retention. Teeth drift without retainers, so the cost of retention belongs in any honest comparison.
  • The provider's experience. Case selection and planning are where aligner treatment succeeds or fails.

Who Invisalign suits, and who it does not

Invisalign suits most adults with crowded teeth, gaps, rotations, mild to moderate bite problems, or teeth that have moved after earlier braces. It is a good fit for people who want discreet, removable treatment and who can commit to wearing the aligners most of the day.

It is less suitable when gum disease is active, when decay needs treating first, or when the problem is largely skeletal and may need a specialist orthodontist or jaw surgery. In those cases the cheapest plan is not the right one, and we will say so. If you are weighing aligners against fixed treatment, our comparison of Invisalign vs braces sets out the trade-offs. Our comparison of Inman aligners vs Invisalign covers the shorter-term option.

Invisalign cost in London: what to ask when comparing quotes

Invisalign price London searches turn up a wide spread of "from" figures. A low headline price is only a saving if it covers the same things. When you compare any two quotes, ask:

  • Is the consultation and scan included? Ours is free, with an iTero scan and ClinCheck preview.
  • Are refinements included, and how many?
  • Are review appointments included for the whole course?
  • Is enamel shaping (IPR) included where the plan needs it?
  • What do retainers cost, and what does a replacement cost?
  • Who plans and supervises the case, and will you see the same clinician each time?

At Dental & Wellness London, Express and Moderate each include one refinement and Unlimited covers refinements as the case requires; your written plan sets out exactly what the fee covers before you commit, with retainers quoted alongside it, so you can compare like with like. We do not publish other clinics' prices, but we are happy to talk through any written quote you have been given.

The process, step by step

  1. Free discovery call (optional). A 20-minute phone conversation about what you would like to change.
  2. Free Invisalign consultation. An examination, an iTero scan and an honest view of whether aligners suit you.
  3. ClinCheck and written plan. You see the planned movement and receive the plan, timeline and fee in writing to take home.
  4. Fit appointment. Attachments are placed and your first aligners fitted.
  5. Reviews every six to ten weeks. Short visits to check each tooth is tracking.
  6. Refinement, if needed, then retainers.

Results, longevity and aftercare

Express cases often finish within months; Unlimited cases can take eighteen months or longer. Results vary with the case and with how consistently aligners are worn. The result lasts as long as retention is maintained: most patients wear removable retainers at night long term, and some have a fixed retainer bonded behind the front teeth. Our guide to retainers after Invisalign covers the options. Keeping up hygiene visits during treatment protects the gums while aligners are worn most of the day.

Risks, and how we reduce them

  • Teeth not tracking as planned. Reduced by careful case selection, regular reviews and refinements.
  • Decay and gum inflammation. Reduced by an examination before treatment and good cleaning habits during it.
  • Root shortening or gum recession. Uncommon with light forces; gums are assessed and X-rays taken where indicated.
  • Relapse. Managed with retainers worn as instructed.
  • Unsupervised treatment. Mail-order aligners remove the examination and supervision that keep these risks low. We explain the difference in direct-to-consumer aligners vs Invisalign.

Paying for Invisalign: finance

We offer 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status, so the fee for any of the three plans can be spread in equal monthly payments over a year. Your written plan shows the total before you commit, and there is no pressure to decide on the day. Some private dental insurance policies contribute towards orthodontic treatment; we provide itemised receipts if you wish to claim.

Why choose us

Every Invisalign case at our practice is planned and delivered by Dr Vishal Patel: BDS Liverpool, MSc Aesthetic & Restorative Dentistry (Manchester), GDC 103127 and AACD member. He is an Invisalign Diamond II provider, in the top 1% of UK Invisalign providers, and has treated over 15,000 cases across around 20 years in dentistry. Our article on what the Diamond provider tier means explains why experience affects planning.

Because Dr Patel's training is restorative as well as aesthetic, alignment is planned with the bite, wear and any later cosmetic work in view. We take a long-term view of the smile and prefer to develop the arch rather than extract teeth where the case allows. Complex skeletal cases are referred to a specialist orthodontist.

Invisalign cost questions

How much is Invisalign in the UK in 2026?

Prices vary between clinics and with the complexity of the case. At Dental & Wellness London, Invisalign Express is £2,200, Moderate is £3,400 and Unlimited is £4,500–£4,900. The consultation, including iTero scan and ClinCheck preview, is free, so you know which plan applies before paying anything.

Can I pay for Invisalign monthly?

Yes. We offer 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status, which spreads the full fee for Express, Moderate or Unlimited into twelve equal monthly payments. The total and the monthly amount are set out in writing with your plan, before you commit to treatment.

What is the cheapest Invisalign option?

Invisalign Express, at £2,200, is our lowest-cost plan. It suits minor front-tooth crowding, small gaps or mild relapse. For many adult cases Moderate or Unlimited is the honest answer, because a plan that cannot reach the planned finish is not a saving. We tell you which applies after the scan.

Is Invisalign more expensive than braces?

It can be, depending on the case and the type of brace. Fixed braces and Six Month Smiles are quoted in writing after assessment at our practice, so we can compare them directly against an Invisalign plan for your teeth. For most adults the choice comes down to the case, comfort and appearance rather than price alone.

Are there hidden Invisalign costs?

The costs most often left off a first quote are refinements, reviews, enamel shaping and retainers. Ask about each one when comparing clinics. Our written plan states what the fee includes before treatment begins, with retainers quoted alongside it, so there are no surprises during the course.

Three plans: Express (£2,200) for minor movement, Moderate (£3,400) for mild to moderate crowding and spacing, and Unlimited (£4,500–£4,900) for complex or full-arch cases. Single vs dual arch, and how complex the tooth movement is, decide which plan fits.
Invisalign categorises providers Bronze to Diamond Apex based on annual case volume. Dr Vishal Patel is a Diamond II provider, in the top 1% of UK Invisalign providers — which reflects planning depth, not just a badge.
Some clinics quote a "from" price before adding refinements, retainers, IPR and clinical reviews. At DWL, your written plan states what the fee includes before you start.
The clinical answer follows the case, not the patient's preference: we recommend Unlimited when Express won't reach the planned end-position, and Express when a simpler tier delivers the result needed.
Experience across a high volume of cases shapes case selection: which movements aligners achieve predictably, and which need a different approach.
Ask explicitly whether refinements, retainers, IPR, and reviews are included. At DWL, the written plan lists what the fee covers, with retainers quoted alongside it.

A lower headline price plus per-refinement and retainer fees can equal or exceed a fully itemised plan — compare quotes like for like.

If your question isn't answered here, call reception on 020 8127 4567 or email reception.

How much does Invisalign cost in the UK?

Prices vary between clinics and with the complexity of the case. At Dental & Wellness London, Invisalign Express is £2,200, Moderate is £3,400 and Unlimited is £4,500–£4,900. The consultation, including an iTero scan and ClinCheck preview, is free, so you know which plan applies and what it includes before you commit.

How much is Invisalign in London?

London fees vary, so compare what each quote includes as well as the headline figure. At our practice on Essex Road, Islington, our three plans are Express £2,200, Moderate £3,400 and Unlimited £4,500–£4,900. Your written plan sets out what the fee covers, with retainers quoted alongside it, before treatment begins.

Is the Invisalign consultation free?

Yes. Orthodontic consultations, including Invisalign, are free. The appointment includes an examination, an iTero digital scan and a ClinCheck preview of the planned tooth movement. If aligners are not right for your case we tell you at that visit, and there is no obligation to proceed.

Can I spread the cost of Invisalign?

Yes. We offer 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status. That spreads the full fee for any plan into twelve equal monthly payments. The total is confirmed in writing with your treatment plan, and you can take it home to consider before booking.

Why do Invisalign quotes vary so much?

Quotes differ because cases differ: how far teeth need to move, whether one or both arches are treated, and whether refinements are needed. They also differ in what they include, such as reviews, enamel shaping and retainers. Asking what each fee covers is the only way to compare quotes fairly.

What happened to Invisalign Lite and Comprehensive?

We now use three plans: Express, Moderate and Unlimited. Cases once described as Lite usually fall within Express or Moderate, and those described as Comprehensive or five-year plans usually fall within Unlimited, at £4,500–£4,900. Your ClinCheck confirms which plan applies to your teeth.

Is cheaper mail-order aligner treatment worth it?

Mail-order aligners remove the in-person examination, gum check and supervision that keep aligner treatment safe and predictable. On a very simple case that may not matter; on anything needing judgement it can lead to problems that cost more to correct. We recommend supervised treatment, and explain the trade-offs honestly at consultation.
