Composite bonding in the UK costs £175 per tooth for simple edge work and £350 per tooth for complex full-coverage bonding at Dental & Wellness London. A typical six-tooth smile ranges £1,050–£2,100. Treatment is completed chair-side in one visit, needs no enamel removal in most cases, and is largely reversible.
What patients are really asking
Composite bonding doesn't have one price because it isn't one procedure — a single chip repair and a full smile redesign are separated by a factor of ten. The honest band for composite bonding at our Islington clinic is £175–£350 per tooth.

The four-tier price ladder
Simple edge bonding — £175/tooth. One chip or minor reshape, 20-30 minutes.
Standard bonding — between the simple (£175) and complex (£350) rates, quoted in writing after assessment. Edge work plus moderate reshaping, 45-60 minutes.
Complex composite veneer — £350/tooth. Full-coverage sculpt, 60-90 minutes.
Full-smile design: charged per tooth at £175–£350, so 4 teeth £700–£1,400; 6 teeth (most common) £1,050–£2,100; 8 teeth £1,400–£2,800; 10 teeth £1,750–£3,500.
The three cost drivers
Material grade — premium nanohybrid composites hold polish longer than budget resins. Clinical time and training — a full-coverage sculpt takes far longer than a simple edge. Planning depth — smile-design photography and shade mapping reduce regret risk versus same-day freehand work.
What "from £X" leaves out
Hygiene visit if not recent (£85), professional whitening first if wanted (£780 combined, provided only after a £65 dental examination confirms a fit, clean and healthy mouth; the examination is not included), a night guard if you grind (£495 Davies splint), and settling-in refinements.
Composite vs porcelain — the lifecycle-cost inversion
Composite: £175–£350/tooth, 5-7 years. Porcelain veneer: £750–£1,050/tooth, 10-15 years. Emax: £1,050–£1,500/tooth, 15-20 years. Composite typically needs replacing once over a decade, narrowing the per-year cost gap versus the sticker-price gap. Composite is recommended over porcelain in roughly four of five cosmetic cases.

How long does it last? Usually five to seven years before replacement.
Does insurance cover it? Most UK policies treat it as cosmetic and don't cover it.
Can I pay monthly? Yes, 0% APR finance over 12 months via Tabeo, subject to status.
