The question the industry would rather you didn't ask cleanly
"How much do veneers cost" sounds like it should have a tidy answer. It doesn't — the range from cheapest to most premium is roughly tenfold per tooth. But the bigger problem isn't the spread. It's that a lot of cosmetic marketing quietly steers the question toward its most expensive answer: full-arch porcelain, ten units, the "smile makeover." That sells well. It's also the wrong answer for most of the people who walk in asking it.
Here is the honest version. At Dental & Wellness London we recommend composite bonding rather than porcelain veneers in roughly four out of five cosmetic cases. Conservative first, porcelain when composite genuinely isn't enough. That single bias changes the price conversation more than any table below — so read the numbers, then read the section on when not to spend them.

Cost by material — and why the gap is real, not a markup
The price differences track genuine differences in labour, materials, and how long the result lasts.
- Composite bonding (£175–£350/tooth). Tooth-coloured resin sculpted directly onto the tooth in a single visit. Usually reversible. Lasts five to seven years.
- Lab-fabricated composite veneers (£350–£500/tooth). Pre-made composite shells. Lasts seven to ten years.
- Standard porcelain veneers (£750–£1,050/tooth). Custom ceramic shells. Needs enamel removal. Lasts ten to fifteen years.
- Emax porcelain veneers (£1,050–£1,500/tooth). Lithium disilicate. Stronger and more translucent. Fifteen to twenty years.
The enamel point deserves a beat, because it's the part of the decision that doesn't reverse. Bonding usually adds to the tooth; porcelain usually removes a little of it first.

Per tooth vs full smile — where the arithmetic compounds
A "smile makeover" usually means six to ten veneers. Examples:
- 6 composite veneers (DWL £350/tooth): about £2,100
- 6 standard porcelain (£900/tooth): about £5,400
- 6 Emax (£1,050/tooth): about £6,300
- 8 Emax: about £8,400
- 10 Emax: about £10,500
Most patients don't need ten veneers. Composite bonding on four to six teeth handles the majority of cases.
Why London veneers cost more
London runs 10–20% above the rest of the UK due to higher rent, equipment costs, and concentration of postgraduate-trained cosmetic dentists.
What should be included — and the "from £X" trap
A proper fee covers consultation, digital smile design, photography, tooth preparation, temporaries, bonding, and post-treatment review. The "from £X" trap excludes half that list.
The costs people don't see coming
- Whitening first: from £450, provided only after a £65 dental examination confirms a fit, clean and healthy mouth (examination not included)
- Hygiene visit: £85
- Prior restorative work
- Night guard after porcelain: quoted in writing after assessment
- Matching old crowns
- Maintenance
"Turkey teeth" — the cheap-abroad maths that doesn't add up
Many abroad treatments are full crowns sold as "veneers," require heavy tooth reduction, and lack follow-up. A £5,000 trip that fails in five years may need £15,000–£25,000 of UK remediation.

Finance and monthly payments
Most patients spread costs through Tabeo: 0% APR finance over 12 months, subject to status. Example: 6 Emax veneers at £6,300: £525/month over 12 months at 0%.
Frequently asked questions
Why are veneers so expensive? Premium ceramics, lab fabrication, and clinical time. Chair-side composite is cheaper.
Are veneers worth the cost? For severe cases, porcelain earns it. For minor corrections, composite is often sufficient.
Can I get cheaper veneers abroad? Read the Turkey teeth section. UK composite bonding is often the better answer.
Does dental insurance cover veneers? Most policies treat them as cosmetic and don't cover.
Can I pay monthly? Yes, via Tabeo.
